One of them can be seen in Hamlet tambakan, Sindumartani Village, District Cangkringan, Sleman regency, as one of the villages that are often impassable lava disaster (cold or hot) from Mount Merapi. The ceremony is a prayer to ask the safety and protection of Almighty God for all the residents to avoid distress, accompanied by offerings of coconut laying in the river areis expected to to be passed lava . This is done when you&#8217;ve seen the signs of impending natural disasters lava that they have known for generations. Residents who live on the banks of rivers that disgorge at Mount Merapi sometimes hear strange noises at night, for example, the tinkling sound of passing trains golden. It is said that the Palace is a sign that Merapi is sending a group within the framework of intent to marry one of her relatives with residents of the South Sea Palace.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;" lang="en-US">This was interpreted as a mystical sign that will soon occur that will flood lava through the river, so for those who know will soon make security measures and rescue purposes. <p style="text-align: justify;" lang="en-US">Angklung is a tool or instrument made of bamboo art special, which was discovered by Mr. Daeng Sutigna about 1938. When the initial use is still limited to the interests angklung local or traditional arts. However, due to the resulting sounds very sweet and also has local and international content such as sounds that have a tone du re mi fa so la si du and daminatilada, then angklung too fast growing, not only locally but also performed performed regionally, nationally and internationally. It is said that the show was held in front of angklung State Leaders at the Asia Africa Conference in Bandung, Merdeka Building in 1955.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;" lang="en-US">Angklung Musical instruments can be combined with other musical instruments such as piano, organ, guitar, drums, and others. Aside from being a tool of art, angklung can also be used as souvenirs or fruits after hand decorated various other accessories. Players of this instrument could reach 50 people or more.</p>

Serat Centhini, an old Javanese manuscript, recorded that the people of Majapahit and Medang, two kingdoms that existed and rule large parts of South East Asia in the period from 8th to 16th century, were channeling hot mineral water to be used in baths. Historic royal baths existed throughout Indonesia. The most famousare Taman Sari in Yogyakarta, built in the 18th century.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Celebrating the birth Muhammad SAW the prophet, Javanese Moslems hold a series of ceremonies during the Maulud (one of the months in the Islamic Calendar). Sekaten is arranged on the fifth day of the month, the ceremony starts at midnight with a short procession of abdi dalem (royal servants) from Ponconiti Hall in the Kraton to the Great Mosque. They carry with them two sets of gamelan instruments named Kyai Nogowilogo and Kyai Gunturmadu. These gamelan are played everyday until the 11<sup>th</sup> day of the month when they are brought back to the palace at midnight. People believe the sound of gamelan music spread out God Almighty. Several days before, and durinf Sekaten, a bazaar is held at the Alun-alun utara (northern square of the palace).</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Two days before Garebeg (the main ceremony), tumplak wajik is held in the yard of the Magangan Kraton. It is the beginning of preparations of Gunungan, a mountain shaped offering of food made from vegetables, fruits and eggs. Wajik, sticky rice cake, is a part of gunungan.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The main ceremony Garebeg is held on the 12<sup>th</sup> day, it starts at 07.30 and is preceded by a parade of the palace guard from Kemandungan to alun-alun utara. Gunungan are carried out of the palace at 10:00 and greeted by a salvo of gunshots, the Gunungan leads the procession to the Great Mosque where it will be blessed by the ulamas. The Gunungan then leaves the Mosque and is grabbed by people waiting in the mosque yard. People believe that parts of the gunungan will bless the villagers with a good life. Farmers often plant these in their fields, believing that it will keep them from disaster. The Garebeg ceremony is also held on Syawal 1<sup>th</sup> (tenth month in Javanese calendar) and on Besar 10<sup>th</sup> (the last month of the Javanese calendar).</p>

And then on to “malam midodareni” during the night angels are expected to come to accompany the bridge she is not allowed to meet anyone as she must prepare herself spiritually for the wedding ceremony the next time. Before the wedding there is “paes” (the making up of bridge and groom). Once the marriage contract has been signed the groom in the presence of a priest performs the marriage ceremony, the bridge and groom should have junkman, a symbol to show respect to their parents and the older members of the family.</p>

The palace was built in 1813 by Prince Haryo Notokusumo, son of Sultan HB I, who was crowned by the British Governor General, Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, and became Paku Alam I who ruled the sub district of Kasultanan in Jogja. Puro Pakualaman was a small palace in a small state, called Kadipaten.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Today Paku Alam IX, the heir of Paku Alam I, lives in this palace. Although he does not have legal authority in state affairs anymore, local people still consider him a cultural leader.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">This palace also has a museum where many royal antiquities are stored, ancient literature and Javanese texts, royal carts, Chinese porcelains, and many other items. Puro Pakualaman is open for the public every Monday and Thursday from 11:00 to 13:00.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Taman Sari was a special park where Kraton family members and their important guests could spend their leisure time, there is a swimming pool and rooms to take a rest. The building and pool were designed and built by Portuguese prisoners from the Batavia war. Taman Sari was ruined during the war led by Prince Diponegoro against the Colonial Government in 1825, it was further destroyed by an earthquake in 1870. The swimming pool has been restored and can give an idea of what Taman Sari was like when built.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Among the ruins are some local houses that have became a compound, within these houses a home industry of batik painting and handicrafts has arisen. It is an interesting walk through the camping, but be careful and do not get lost, as the alleys seem like a labyrinth. If you get confused about which direction to go just ask the locals.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The entrance to Taman Sari is located on Taman street and is open everyday from 09:00 to 15:00.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">On the north side of the ruins, you can find Pasar Ngasem, a traditional pet market. It is often called the bird market, as it sells more birds than anything else, other pets include rabbits, chickens, dogs, snakes, fish, turtles, iguanas, bats, etc.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is about 10 km from the cemetery of Panembahan Senopati in Kotagede. In imogiri cemetery you can see the royal tombs of the Mataram kings. This compound was built on top of a hill by Sultan Agung in 1645, he intended to use this as his royal tomb, In fact, Imogiri became the burial ground for his successors as well, including Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX, who died in 1988.</p>
<p>This cemetery is still considered a sacred place, the royal family still visit Imogiri before they hold certain ceremonies, such as a King&#8217;s marriage, coronation (jumenengan) or anniversary. As it is a sacred place all visitors must wear Javanese traditional batik which can be rented before entering. Visitors climb the 345 steps to the cemetery, wearing traditional cloth, the most important site is the grave of Sultan Agung, which is over 350 years old, and it can be visited every Monday, from 10.00 to 13.00 and Friday and Sunday, from 13.30 to 16.00.</p>
<p>Imogiri cemetery is located in southern Jogja, about 20 km from the city centre, buses can be taken from Giwangan (main bus station).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">After Sultan Agung passed away in 1646, the capital/palace was moved from Kerto (in Plered-Bantul) to Kartosuro in 1680. It is about 50 km to the east of Jogja towards Solo. This was a twilight period for the Mataram dynasty, which did not become important again until the capital was moved  to Surakarta (Solo) in 1745, when the King Pakubuwono II was in power. During this time the Mataram dynasty was split into two kingdoms, the Kasunan Surakarta with Pakubuwono II as the king, and Kasultanan Ngayogyakarta with Hamengkubuwana (HB) I as the Sultan. While Hamengkubuwana I was building his new palace (kraton) on the site of the present kraton, he stayed in a temporary kraton (village) in Desa (village) Tlogo Ambarketawang-Gamping until 1757.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Kraton Ambarketawang is located about 5 km west from Kraton Yogya. There are very few parts of the buildings left, however in 1971 the ordination of Pangeran Herjuna (now HB X), was conducted there with a ceremony of cutting hair and a puppet show.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hinduism and Buddhism have lived side by side in Java since a long ago. The conflict between the two religions noted in India has not been played out in Java. In the area of the Buddhist monument Borobudur, (42 km north-west of Jogja), are many Hindu temples.</p>
<p>There are also many Buddhist temples around the Hindu Prambanan complex (17 km east Jogja). The inter-religious relationship become close when the two great dynasties, Buddhist Syailendra and Hindu Sanjaya were united by the marriage of Rakai Pikatan of Hindu Mataram and the Buddhist Syailendra princess Pramodhavardhani in the second half of the 9<sup>th</sup> century.</p>
